Rambling

The best hot cocoa in the world is from Caribou! The difference between Caribou’s delicious hot cocoa and everybody else’s is… everything! The amount of chocolate in it is just perfect and well blended; they add a delicious whipped cream and then sprinkle chocolate shavings on the top of it! It’s perfect… I am basically comparing Caribou’s delicious hot cocoa to two other places: Starbucks (which I love the place for the fact that they have “green” products) and the hot cocoa from Jazzmans, the coffee shop from where I work. All three places uses milk and not water to make their hot cocoa, which is great, but Starbucks and Jazzmans add too much chocolate so the drink looks really dark, and tastes really strong instead of a smooth flavor, there is whipped cream on top of the one from Starbucks and they add chocolate syrup on top but it is not the same. I asked for whipped cream once at Jazzman’s and even then, the result was not really good. The truth is you have not tried good hot cocoa until you try Caribou’s hot cocoa (and of course, that is my opinion). And no, they are not paying me to advertise!!!  The only problem with all these places is the price. I can’t believe how much they’ll charge just for a cup of coffee – it’s a good thing I don’t drink the stuff – or a small cup of hot cocoa, which ran me for $2.70 plus tax. I friend of mine, Marci, said she’ll pay the price just for the experience of going there, getting the cute looking cup with the holder, the smell… and so on. I have to say people like my dear friend are everywhere! She is just someone I have had this discussion with. With the economy the way it is I was reading this article from the Vanguard website and one of the ways to save money is? Just take a guess… yes, making your own coffee. I think that has become common knowledge to most but what do you do when you are a coffeeaholic? And not only that, you need, crave, and want to go to Starbucks and have the full experience? It’s definitely a complicated battle of the mind with the wallet. I heard Mc’Donalds is making really good coffee and lattes now, but you don’t really get the same experience as you do when you go to Starbucks, or Caribou… Anyways, just some rambles…
